We started this commitment back in 2015, and it's evolved into something way bigger than just checking green building boxes. It's become our identity.

Here's how we've been pushing the envelope over the years...
Started our green certification journey. First LEED project completed in downtown Toronto - a mixed-use building that cut energy use by 45%. That's when we knew we were onto something real.
Got our official LEED AP credentials. Three of our senior architects became accredited - which meant we could really dig deep into sustainable design principles. Game changer for how we approach every new project.
Delivered our first net-zero residential building. It took 18 months of planning, tons of solar panels, geothermal heating, and some seriously efficient insulation. The homeowners' energy bills? Almost zero.
Implemented rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling across all projects. Reduced water consumption by an average of 62% - which in Toronto's climate means we're capturing and reusing a LOT of rainwater.
Started sourcing 75% of materials from recycled or reclaimed sources. Found some amazing suppliers who deal in salvaged timber and recycled steel. Plus, it gives each project unique character you just can't buy new.
Achieved full carbon neutrality in our studio operations and project deliveries. We're offsetting what we can't eliminate yet, but working hard to reduce that offset number every quarter.
Orientation matters. We position buildings to maximize natural light and ventilation, reducing HVAC loads by up to 40%. It's architecture 101, but you'd be surprised how often it gets ignored.
Why ship materials from across the globe when Ontario's got amazing resources? We source locally wherever possible - cuts transportation emissions and supports regional economy. Win-win.
IoT sensors, smart thermostats, automated shading systems - we integrate tech that actually makes a difference in energy consumption. Not just gadgets for the sake of it.
Low-VOC materials, advanced ventilation systems, natural air filtration through green walls. Your building shouldn't make you sick - it should make you healthier.
We calculate environmental impact from construction through demolition. Sometimes spending more upfront means way less impact over 50 years. That's the calculation that matters.
